Alabama Citizens for Constitutional Reform invite you to
attend a statewide rally


WHEN: 11:30 a.m. on April 4.

WHERE: Capitol steps, Montgomery.

WHY: Come and show the governor and the Legislature that comprehensive constitutional reform is important to you and confirm that grassroots wants a new state constitution.

   The rally is in conjunction with the Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama Leadership Day. Grassroots participants from across the state will have an opportunity to tell local legislators why a new constitution is so important.

   Citizens in every metropolitan area and every rural county are invited to organize groups and attend this watershed day for the future of Alabama.

   Plans call for mules and wagons representing every corner of the state to come up historic Dexter Avenue and deliver this message: Alabama cannot progress in the 21st century with a mule and wagon era constitution that is demeaning to so many of our citizens.

   We need to improve education, establish local self government, correct fiscal inflexibility and provide government that can adapt changing conditions. Today the crisis issue is proration of the education budget. Without a new constitution, such crises will continue.

ACCR Foundation, Inc. Goals and Strategy:
• Goal No. 1. Freedom for reform: Advocate removal of restrictions on reform
• Goal No. 2. Education for reform: Conduct a public statewide program to show citizens
     why we need constitutional reform
• Goal No. 3. Action for constitutional reform: Encourage candidates to support reform;
     urge Legislature and governor to create a constitutional reform commission; advocate
     writing a new constitution; and support adoption of a new constitution.
