BIRMINGHAM Alabama Citizens for Constitutional Reform (ACCR),
Vestavia Hills PTA Council, and Mayor McCallums Education Committee
have teamed up to sponsor a public forum entitled Constitutional
Reform and Your Childs Education. The free event will
take place on Tuesday, October 8, 2002 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at
the Vestavia Hills High School auditorium in Vestavia Hills, Alabama.
The featured speaker at the event will be Judge
Howard Hawk, District Judge for Marshall County and former Chair of
the State House Ways and Means Education Committee. Hawk is also an
ACCR board member.
The purpose of the forum is to discuss the potential
benefits constitutional reform would bring to local school systems
and families of Alabama.
As the former Chair of the State House Ways
and Means Education Committee, Judge Howard Hawk is uniquely qualified
to discuss the benefits constitutional reform can bring to Alabamas
education system, said Kathryn Bowden, Executive Director of
ACCR. This forum will be a tremendous opportunity for interested
parents to learn about the relationship between a new constitution
and a better education for their children.
Bowden also stated that it is exciting to see momentum
for the constitutional reform movement continue to build through the
work of motivated organizations such as Vestavia Hills PTA Council
and Mayor McCallums Education Committee.
The forum will take place at the Vestavia Hills
High School auditorium located at 2235 Lime Rock Road in Vestavia
Hills, Alabama. The public is invited to attend free of charge.
