BIRMINGHAM - The Birmingham Metropolitan Chapter of Alabama Citizens for Constitutional Reform (Birmingham Metro chapter of ACCR) invites concerned citizens to participate in a rally for a new state constitution. The rally is free to the public and will take place Thursday, October 17, at 6:30 p.m. in the Homewood Library Auditorium.

"The movement for constitutional reform in Alabama is alive and well, and it will not subside until the people of this state have achieved their goal of providing a new constitution for a better Alabama," said Kathryn Bowden, Executive Director of ACCR. "This rally is part of an ongoing effort by grass roots activists to keep the general public in Alabama informed and involved in this crucial effort."

The featured speaker for the event will be Sid McAnnally. A partner in the law firm of Harris, Caddell & Shanks in Decatur, Mr. McAnnally serves as Chair of the Decatur City School Foundation and the Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce. He also serves on the Boards of the A+ Research Foundation and Leadership Alabama. Mr. McAnnally is active in the United Methodist Church, having served as the Associate Minister at Decatur First United Methodist Church from 1996 until 2001.
