BIRMINGHAM - The Birmingham Metropolitan Chapter of Alabama Citizens
for Constitutional Reform (Birmingham Metro chapter of ACCR) invites
concerned citizens to participate in a rally for a new state constitution.
The rally is free to the public and will take place Thursday, October
17, at 6:30 p.m. in the Homewood Library Auditorium.
"The movement for constitutional reform in Alabama
is alive and well, and it will not subside until the people of this
state have achieved their goal of providing a new constitution for
a better Alabama," said Kathryn Bowden, Executive Director of
ACCR. "This rally is part of an ongoing effort by grass roots
activists to keep the general public in Alabama informed and involved
in this crucial effort."
The featured speaker for the event will be Sid McAnnally.
A partner in the law firm of Harris, Caddell & Shanks in Decatur,
Mr. McAnnally serves as Chair of the Decatur City School Foundation
and the Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce. He also serves
on the Boards of the A+ Research Foundation and Leadership Alabama.
Mr. McAnnally is active in the United Methodist Church, having served
as the Associate Minister at Decatur First United Methodist Church
from 1996 until 2001.
