WHEREAS, the Constitution
of Alabama is grievously defective, antiquated and reflects conditions
and prejudices of a long-past century that do not exist today, and
WHEREAS,
the mere length of the Constitution is oppressive and unnecessary,
and
WHEREAS,
we believe a more simple and modern document would make state
and local government more efficient and effective:
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that since
these inadequacies and complexities exists,
the Chambers County Democratic Executive Committee does hereby respectfully
request
Governor Don Seigleman, the Chambers County Legislative Delegation
and the entire Alabama Legislature to support and work
toward a more efficient and effective Constitution.
THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that
a Constitutional Convention
be formulated to revise the Constitution of Alabama.
