BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GADSDEN, ALABAMA,
that the City Council supports efforts to revise and replace the Constitution of 1901
with a constitution that will allow government at all levels to effectively
address the problems of this state, urges the legislative delegation to vote in favor of such
efforts and encourages all citizens to become active in the process.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the city Clerk is directed to send copies of this resolution
to each member of the delegation from Etowah County to the Alabama Legislature,
Governor Don Siegelman, the Alabama Citizens for Constitution Reform,
the Alabama League of Municipalities and the Alabama Association of County Commissioners.

I certify that this resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of Gadsden, Alabama,
at a meeting held on December 11, 2001.
